Aside from soaking up some much-needed sun for the past couple of weeks, my wife and I checked out the third season of Star Trek: Picard and Adam Sandlers latest film, Spaceman.
Spaceman tells the story of astronaut Jakub Procházka, (played by Sandler) who is six months into a mission to investigate a series of cloud and dust particles that lie beyond Jupiter when he finds a spider-like creature aboard his ship.
Is this creature real or is Jakub’s mind beginning to crumble?
The creature expresses a wish to understand humans on a deeper level and to help Jakub work out some inner demons.
Space is a lonely place so Jakub names the spider alien Hanus (pronounced Hanoosh) and they become friends.
There is more to the story than that but you’ll have to check it out as I recommend giving this one a watch.
For me, this one had a lot of 2001: A Space Odyssey vibes to it. It’s part space adventure and part psychedelic experience.
It’s the story of a man running a psychological gauntlet, embarking on a heroic journey of the mind.

Star Trek: Picard Season 3 is pretty much a 10-episode reunion of TNG, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager, with a hint of original series thrown in, it’s awesome!
When the Picard series first aired I was intrigued, and for what it’s worth I enjoyed the first season but thought the second season needed some work.
The third season is by far the best of all three. It brings back just about every character that you would hope to see and maybe a few more.
I wasn’t even going to watch the third season, but it came highly recommended by a close friend so I decided to check it out and I’m glad I did.
If you’re a Star Trek fan you’ll love the nostalgia of, well, you’ll have to watch it to find out.
Each week, a group of fearless individuals get together to pay tribute to one of the most fascinating genres ever: Sci-Fi.
If you haven’t checked out any of these fine storytellers, do so immediately.

That's great to hear RE Picard! I haven't checked it out, but one day I might just like super-binge all the Star Trek stuff I've missed over the years.
Side note: we watched Predestination on Prime (free for us) last week, and it was pretty good!
