I still eat a heavier breakfast but I don't usually eat donuts or pancakes. I have tried eating some packaged sweets for breakfast when I had no time though, just not anything fancy like a birthday cake. I don't see any argument against getting your calories mostly in the morning so you can burn them off throughout the day, but on the rare occasion I go to one of those breakfast restaurants I still end up ordering an omelet because I don't like the sugar crash from just eating pancakes or waffles. Maybe have a little bit of pancake or waffle with your omelet like desert (heh) but I don't have as much of a sweet tooth as most Americans and this feels funny to say because my normal diet is full of Jamaican jerk and pineapple curry and orange everything, I just add the sweet flavors to some real food with protein and nutritional content instead of basically eating cake for a meal.

The sugar crash from pancakes or waffles is exactly why for me, they are not something that I consume in the morning. But I like the idea of having a little waffle or tiny pancake with that omelet or other proteins. Adding a sweet element to some savory protein is always a tasty way to go, I love the spicy/sweet combination though, usually in an Asian inspired dish of some sorts.

A banana.. I like to put something into my stomach before I begin my day ... a yoghurt anything quick.

I like cooking but only when I have time. Once in a while I will have that heart attack on a plate! ... Or bacon dipped in chocolate.. or pork belly ... no, I'm not overweight...

I seem to like everything that is supposedly not good for me.

I was told to graze... I'm not a Llama... 5 or 6 small potions all through the day to avoid the big snack attack! Hahahaha

I often don't find the time for that, especially prepairing something fresh everytime, trying to avoid processed stuff.

I eat a lot of rice or quinoa, it can be pre-cooked amd either

Grandma used to say: a little bit of everything all in good measure.

Balance always seems to be the answer.

I too seem to have a love of everything that is "bad" for me, but yes everything in moderation, when possible and balance is key. I try to pick a couple of days a week to cook batches of something, soup or like you said rice, or some kind of grains that can be cooked in bulk and eaten through the week for a quick meal. Cooking takes time and we all seem to be short of it. Thank you for your comment!

Interestingly enough, the main reason I eat steel cut oats and fruit every day for breakfast is that just in case I do have that whole bag of Dorito's later, at least I already have some good stuff in my system.

Yeah dude! He did more than enough to shape the dark forces in the world into something systematic and organized. I love human psychology, but sometimes the more we know about it, the more dangerous we can be (at least individuals).

As always, the fundamental question is; What is a nutritious breakfast? Which foods are nutritious? Very few agree. I have my opinions based on my research, and others have theirs. This is not even to consider whether time restricted eating (also called intermittent fasting) is healthy or harmful. A different topic for certain, but it goes directly to breaking your fast. The debate rages on.
