My brain went off on a tangent here, but I was curious whether you know much about the history of oatmeal. I'm thinking people must have had something like gruel (and been very happy with this) like when they built the pyramids. I also know beer was lot more like this, kind of in between porridge and booze... interesting times, to say the least.
I don't know too much about the history of oatmeal but I do know quite a bit about beer as it’s kind of like liquid bread or at least good beer is. I should do a piece on the history of porridge/cereals/mush and tie beer into that. Now my brain is going on a tangent!
Dude, that would be rad! If you want to, you're certainly welcome to reference this piece Michael Woudenberg and I worked on (it was really fun to research and write);
That's a really cool piece! I love beer of all varieties but no longer drink alcohol so I dont consume it but have always been fascinated by beers place in society.
Man, good for you. I think I was like 33 when I quit. I didn't quite have 20 years of terrible health, but a pretty mixed bag with some worse years near the end of that stint. Glad we are both away from that world!

And of course, if you need a hand, just gimme a shout. That project sounds very fun.

I'm in the same boat. I quit drinking in 2009, but I had a LOT of experience!
I quit in 2019 because drinking was becoming like a second job. I was incredibly unhealthy for about 20 years.
