I have an avocado salsa recipe that is basically Pico de Gallo and diced avocado. It's spicy and full of flavor, it goes with just about everything. I will have to publish that one soon.
This is great. I don't have a potato masher, but do you think I could use a combo of some other kitchen tools to do similar things? I do have a mortar and pestle, but it's small.
Mortar and pestle is great, mine is also fairly small. When all else fails you can always use a fork to smash ripe avocados. If you don't have a fork, but really, who doesn't, glove up and use your hand. Or if you like it dirty, forget the glove. That last part was bad chef advice, lol!
Hahahahahaha! I use a fork, always. But went to a fancy Peruvian restaurant and they brought out this super cool stoneware pestle and mortar and as if by magic the guacamole was done in front of us. I have no idea how. I think I also missed part of the show as I was washing hands... shame really. Potato masher? Really? Never thought of that. Is that the best option you think?
If you're just making a small amount of guac go ahead and use a fork or mortar and pestle but if your making it for a crowd then yes, in my humble opinion a masher is your best choice but I like it somewhat chunky still. If you want pureed avocado then a food processor works great for that.
Chef? Why no tomatoes?

Not happy with the food processed guac... I will try the masher if I need to feed the crowds next time. Such a simple and easy hack! Thank you!
Ha! I love working with my hands, though, for real.
I gotta make this!. Thanks
